ABOUT LORI
Lori McCarty Brannock staged her first home in 2011 when she and her husband moved from Free Union Road to a home in town off Alderman Road. After moving out, the house felt incredibly small, all the imperfections were glaringly obvious, and there was a horrible echo in the house. It didn't feel like the charming home they loved for years. The empty house felt and appeared in sharp contrast to the way the home looked and felt before moving. When guests came over they always remarked about the cozy feeling and the attractive furnishings. When the house was empty, nothing was cozy at all. It was rather unattractive and depressing.
Lori knew she had to "stage" the home to sell for top dollar. She assembled key pieces of furniture, her favorite art, mirrors, rugs, and pillows. She added towels to the bathrooms and fresh flowers throughout the space.
It worked like a charm.
Lori has styled occupied homes for over a decade and began staging vacant homes full time in June 2020. She takes on jobs of all sizes in Central Virginia.
Lori was raised in Charlottesville and is a graduate of the University of Virginia. She and her husband enjoy acting as ambassadors for the Charlottesville and UVA community.
WHAT IS STAGING? WHAT IS STYLING?
STAGING: Lori adds all the cozy elements to your vacant home to allow buyers to envision their furniture in the space. Vacant rooms feel small. Cost determined after a site visit.
STYLING: perfect for those wanting to tweak their current spaces or those trying to sell an occupied (not vacant) home. Lori walks through your home as a prospective buyer would and suggests specific changes to layout, proportion, adding or subtracting pattern/color, targets areas for de-cluttering, then Lori adds in appropriate art, mirrors, and adjusts furniture and belongings in your occupied home to make it more marketable so you can sell more quickly and for top dollar... or to stay and enjoy your home more than you realized possible. Hourly rates apply.
